Default Crowd Control Character?

I'm considering making a crowd control character, and while looking through the skills I can't seem to find the typical crowd control skills like stun, sleep, or polymorph (WoW) equivalent. Do these type skills exist for any profession?

TIA

Shadow of Fear
AoE Curse that reduces weapon attack speed

Glimmering Mark
Elementalist skill that causes AoE blindness

Meteor Shower/Meteor

AoE damage with knockdown

But generally, if you want to do large damage to a group of people... the fire attribute line for the elementalist has the most AoE's...

anyone know if DoTs work with pacifism/amity?

i thought the question was in terms of a completely disabling skill like sleep/stun/polymorph/root found in WoW and other games. amity is the only one i know of off the top of my head that is an AoE that completely stops attackers. pacifism will work on 1, and blackout may work depending on your definition..

why wouldn't dots count as taking damage, are they that bad?

cripple condition counts as snare also I guess, no?

ranger pin down is a very effective snare and there are tons of skills that silence casters.

How does blindness work in PvP. Does your foe's screen go dark?

they just miss a lot. especially useful when combined with skills that activate upon a miss, like price of failure.

Thanks Bgnome. I apologize for not looking it up on the site before posting. I've come from another fan site then didn't have the wealth of information this site has so I never even thought of looking for it

WoW and other games have skills like that because they are unbalenced games. Games that have spells like "power word kill", etc.

Guild Wars is strategically orientated, so nothing is absolutely powerfulful in all ways.
